Agriculutural Adventures is a spotlight activity that some school groups will use in their curriculum throughout the school year. Coming to visit first in the Fall when school begins and possibly take part in naming a calf. Watching the harvest of the corn and soybeans and learning how that is directly connected to the food we eat, the fuels we use, and also other crops that can be fiber and clothing. Winter activities can include a visit from the farmer to the school to talk about the importance of dairy in the diets of people. Spring brings it around with the birth of all the aniamals that will get visited with the Summer Fun Program. The calf that was named is now on her way to becoming a bred heifer and will have grown from 80-100 pounds to over 800 pounds. This is an amazing opportunity for students to really get to know the animals and the farmer over serveral visits.
